In basic look and feel, the Transformer Book is very reminiscent of Asus' other ultrabook-style laptops, particularly the Zenbook series. Which is to say, it also looks a lot like a MacBook Air, although cast in a darker hue. As a long-time manufacturer of laptops for other brands as well as itself, Asus has a keen sense of design, at least in terms of the g pad 7.0 charger physical silhouette.Because most of the components are packed behind the screen, the system is very top-heavy, and can potentially tip over backward if you tap the screen too hard. It's not going to rock backward every time you use it, but it feels unbalanced. Even worse, with two hard drives and two batteries, the tablet-plus-keyboard weighs a whopping 5.3 pounds, without the AC adapter -- that's more than a clunky old pre-Air MacBook, and the entire package feels too heavy to carry around on a regular basis. If you've ever commuted with a 5-pound laptop, you'll know what I mean.The big selling point of the Transformer Book is that it,original asus memo pad 7 charger well, transforms. Used by itself, the tablet screen is excellent, and I appreciate the extra real estate the higher resolution gives you in the traditional desktop view of Windows 8. In the tile-based Windows 8 (which really was easier to refer to when Microsoft called it "Metro"), the onscreen icons autoscale, so you're less likely to notice one resolution over another.The keyboard base has a flat-topped, island-style keyboard that works reasonably well, but like many Asus keyboards has a lot of flex in the middle, even under moderate typing. dc59 charger The large buttonless clickpad below the keyboard is a generous size for a 13-inch laptop. Single-finger input works works well enough for pointing and clicking, but multitouch is frustrating, another issue I've found on numerous Asus laptops. Two-finger scroll gestures worked with some browsers and modes, but not others, and the entire pad has a floating feel, making it easy to over- or undershoot your target.Fortunately, the 10-input touch screen is very responsive and accurate. I often say that a 13-inch screen is the perfect middle ground: large enough for all-day use, while still small enough for frequent transport, and that being combined with a full-HD 1,920x,1080-pixel dell e7440 battery resolution is a big plus. Sharp-looking edge-to-edge glass covers the screen, but the entire thing is a fingerprint magnet -- an occupational hazard for touch screens, but this particular one seems especially smudge-prone.One nice bonus is the stereo speakers built into the tablet. They won't fill a room, but they sound full, rich, and deep for laptop speakers in a system this size. The credit goes to Asus' long-standing partnership with Bang & Olufsen ICEpower on speaker design (that's a Bang & Olufsen subsidiary company -- I'm unclear on the exact difference, but everyone involved gets very uptight if you just refer to the speaker design as being by Bang & Olufsen). In any event, they sound excellent.
Display
ASUS Transformer Book TX300 DisplayThe Transformer Book TX300's gorgeous 13.3-inch 1920 x 1080 IPS display produced outstanding visuals. Text on websites such as NYTimes.com was razor-sharp, and we were able to see more content above the dell latitude e7440 power cord fold than on lower resolution 13-inch displays. While watching a 1080p trailer for "Pacific Rim," we could clearly make out intricate details found on the movie's giant robots, including gaps between their armor plating. Colors were also exquisite, as made evident by the blisteringly neon lights of a rain-soaked city.As part of its software suite, ASUS loaded the Transformer Book with its Splendid Technology display utility. The program features three preset color levels for various viewing situations including alienware m17x battery Normal, Theater and Vivid. The Theater option gave our display a yellow hue that was less than desirable, while the Vivid setting cranked up the white balance. If you really want to change the color settings, we suggest skipping either of the aforementioned options and moving right along to Manual Mode.Despite its excellent visual quality, the Transformer Book's display offered shallow viewing angles, with images washing out at roughly 40 degrees. Still, the screen's brightness rating of 243 lux is higher than the category average alienware 14 battery replacement of 227 lux, but just below the Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga's 281 lux. Neither hybrid's panel, however, was as bright as the Dell XPS 12's 434 lux.As with other notebooks sporting high-resolution touch screen displays, navigating the small boxes and menus of Windows 8's Desktop app was a bit of a chore. You'll need a steady hand to tap things such as a window's minimize or close buttons due to their small size. That's not to say the display isn't responsive -- it is. It's simply a result of the display's high resolution shrinking everything on the screen. If it becomes too much of a problem, though, you can always reduce the resolution.
Performance
Asus Transformer Book TX300C The Transformer Book TX300C may be slim, but it packs a lot of punch, thanks to a 1.9GHz Intel Core i7-3517U dual-core processor with 4GB of RAM. Though it lagged a bit in PCMark 7, scoring samsung power adapter pa 1400 24 4,275 points-as compared to the Microsoft Surface Pro (4,768) or the Dell XPS 12 (4,638)-it still led the category in both Cinebench (2.47 points) and Photoshop CS6 (4 minutes 47 seconds). It's worth noting, however, that this leading performance is not what you'll see when you're out on the road, using the tablet alone. We saw remarkably different performance results when running on battery power, with a PCMark score of 2,348 points and a paltry Cinebench score of 0.79 points. For best performance, stick close to a wall outlet.performance was a tad underwhelming, completing 3DMark 11 with scores of 953 (Entry) and 182 (Extreme). Most competitors completed the same test above 1,000 points at Entry settings and above 200 at Extreme settings. Regardless, none of this category of hybrid tablets has been able to asus t100 charger support gaming. It will, however, be more than adequate for all of your web browsing and video streaming needs.The Transformer Book TX300C also did well in our battery tests, lasting 4 hours 47 minutes, only slightly short of the 5 hours claimed by Asus. Add in the secondary battery in the docking keyboard, however, and you'll find that time stretched to 7:35-long enough to take you through a full day of work or school without ever plugging it in.While there are plenty of things to like about the Asus Transformer Book TX300C-like a beautiful 1080p touch screen, a long-lasting dual-battery setup, and a powerful Core i7 processor-there np900x4c charger were still a few problems. The touchy docking connection made swapping between tablet and laptop modes frustrating, and the dramatic difference in performance between battery power and AC power are too big to let slide. The Microsoft Surface Pro remains our Editors' Choice with similar performance, a lower price tag, and easier portability.
Battery life
Speaking about the battery life, the tablet itself houses a 38 Wh battery, and under the keyboard there’s a 23 Wh one as well.Those being said, you can use the tablet as a stand-alone device and you’ll get between two and 4 hours of daily use on a charge, based on what you’re doing on it.The methodology for the results on this section is simple: I’ve used BatteryBar and I’ve ran each activity for 15 minutes (not the best approach, but that’s what I could do, given the limited time I had with this unit). I’ve then recorded the start and lenovo b5400 ac adapter the ending capacity of the battery showed by that app, and based on that, I’ve got the average results shown below, extrapolated per hour (there’s an error margin though, as we know that a battery does not discharge linearly).Anyway, here’s what you should expect when using the tablet as a stand-alone device:
7.5 Wh Power Saving, Screen at 0% while editing texts using the on-screen keyboard;
10 Wh looping a 720p video in Power Saving mode, Wi-Fi OFF;
12 Wh everyday activities (browsing, videos, editing texts and photos, music) in Balanced mode, screen at 50% , Wi-Fi and Keyboard illumination ON;
15.5 Wh looping a 1080p 40 mbps movie from SSD, with screen at 100% in High Performance mode;
21 Wh looping a 4K trailer from Youtube, with screen at 100% in High Performance mode;
And then, you can connect the tablet to the dock. In this case, there are two different ways you can use the combo. In the first scenario, you get to access everything there is available on the docking unit: the keyboard and trackpad, ports and the external hard-drive. In this case, you’ll get an average of four hours of life out of this computer.
6.5 Wh Power Saving, Screen at 0% while editing texts using the physical keyboard;
11 Wh looping a 720p video in Power Saving mode, Wi-Fi OFF;
14 Wh everyday activities (browsing, videos, editing texts and photos, music) in Balanced mode, screen at 50% , Wi-Fi and Keyboard illumination ON;
18 Wh looping a 1080p 40 mbps movie from HDD, with screen at 100% in High Performance mode;
21.5 Wh playing Civilization V, with screen at 100% in High Performance mode;
24 Wh looping a 4K trailer from Youtube, with screen at 100% in High
In the second scenario, called Notebook Mode, you can only use the keyboad and the trackpad on the dock, while all the other features are turned OFF, and in this case the average battery life will jump to 5+ hours. In this case, BatteryBar wasn’t working properly, so I only have two tests, while discharging the battery from 100% to 7%:
nearly 5 hours everyday use in Balanced mode, screen at 50%, Wi-Fi ON, keyboard back-lightning ON, while performing various tasks (browsing, editing photos and texts, listening to music, watching some clips on Youtube and so on); around 6 hours while looping a 720p clip in Power4Gear Energy Saving mode, with screen at 50%, Wi-Fi OFF, Keyboard illumination OFF. If I got things right (and please correct me if I’m wrong, but that’s the conclusion I was able to get based on my tests, as neither Windows or any other piece of software actually sees the secondary battery), the battery inside the dock seems to power the hard-drive and the ports when in regular mode, while only the battery inside the tablet takes care of the hardware inside it. lenovo y50 battery replacement In other words, when having the tablet and the docking connected in this mode, you’re actually getting shorter battery expectations than when using the tablet alone. In notebook Mode, the battery inside the dock and the battery inside the tablet join forces, and as a result, you get significantly longer battery life.Now, you can change between the two modes from the Asus Transformer Book management console, accessible by pressing that Blue button on the keyboard. It’s the Battery UP feature in the right lower corner. dell venue 8 pro power adapter Besides that, the interface also offers extra info about the laptop and access to a couple of other Asus tweaks, like the Asus Splendid software that changes the color settings of your screen or the Audio Wizard.
